May 20th 2012 Quarterly Program – Rundell Family

A description and display of recent additions to the archives of the Austerlitz Historical Society will be the centerpiece of a gathering on Sunday, May 20 at 2 pm in Old Austerlitz. The major part of the collection–generously donated to the Society by the family of Helen Mesick Rundell of Spencertown includes hand-written diaries, business ledgers, personal letters, receipts, wills, patent certificates, newspaper clippings, photographs and other documents of the nineteenth century.

A large family tree and other materials trace the history of the Rundell, Mesick, Griswold and Deming families who have many descendents and other relatives still living in Spencertown, Austerlitz and the surrounding area.
The quarterly gathering of the AHS will take place at the Harvey House on the grounds of Old Austerlitz on Route 22, one mile south of the intersection with Route 203. The presentation of historic documents will be followed by a very brief business meeting. Refreshments will be served. There is no charge and everyone is welcome. Bring a friend!

The Austerlitz Historical Society is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of the area. For more information, check the website at oldausterlitz.org, send an email
